Pages and Panels
You can create pages that take up the full page (allowing for the site navigation menus), or pages with additional small pages on the right, left, top or bottom which are referred to as 'Panels'. An example of a 'right' panel is shown below.

If you want to create a page with panels, you don't need to create the panels first, but it helps.
To create a Panel, just use the Page Wizard as you would for any other page, selecting Panel as the page type at step 2.
Bear in mind that the content should reflect the smaller space available for a panel, and that images must fir into the panel's maximum width. This will vary, depending on your particular site layout but, if you are working on a fixed width site, you should restrict image widths to 140px.
Once you have created your panels, create your main page as normal. Save any changes, then click on the panels tab. You will see a list of available Panels. Tick the ones you want to appear next to page and remember to click on the Save button.
