XStandard Download Troubleshooting

If you have followed the instructions on the XStandard Download page, and did not successfully download the ActiveX control, ther are number of things you can check befire you try again.

Internet Explorer Version

Check that you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer, and that the version is at least 6.0.2. You can find the current version number by following Help, About Internet Explorer from the menu. You can download the latest version here.

Allow ActiveX controls to download

Check that Internet Explorer is set to allow ActiveX controls to be installed. To check this, follow Tools, Internet Options from the menu and click on the Security tab. Choose the Internet zone and either reset the secutiry level to Medium, or click on the [Custom Level] button, look for the ActiveX controls and plug-ins section and make sure the following are set: -

  • Download signed ActiveX controls - Prompt
  • Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins - Enable

Check user privileges

If you still can't download the control it may be because you do not have rights to install programs. This is most likely on a company network. You should refer this to your network administrator or IT support.

Download Stand-alond Installer

If all else fails click here to download the stand-alone installation program (EXE).
